HeliCoils for Skis

HeliCoil Inserts are a great way to repair striped or damaged standard mounts.  They are also great for beefing up a mount if you have had problems with binding screws ripping out.  These inserts should not be used for swapping bindings between skis.  The inserts are an open design unlike the Binding Freedom inserts that are completely sealed.  Swapping with these would easily allow for moisture to enter the core of the ski causing damage to the core.  A permanent sealed mount will allow you to fix and replace damage threads and re-use the hole location.  These inserts work with standard alpine mounting screws, the screws that come with your binding or for sale here.  Not for use with Binding Freedom mounting hardware.

Make sure to use binding hole glue or an epoxy to seal the hole and prevent moisture from entering the core of the ski.
